The heart behind the Photographs
Hi, I’m Sarah—the woman behind Bespoke Southern Photography.
I’m a Southern girl, a wife, a mother of four, and someone who has always been drawn to people. I love hearing their stories, watching the way they interact, and noticing the small gestures that reveal how deeply they love one another.
Photography, for me, has never been about asking everyone to stand perfectly still and smile. It’s about what happens in between—the way your child reaches for you without thinking, the look between two people who have built a life together, the quiet wonder of waiting for a baby, or the laughter that breaks through when nothing goes quite as planned.
My own life has shaped the way I photograph. As the mother of an autistic son, I understand sensory needs, recognize when a child may need a little more time, and know that every family has its own rhythm. I’m also a mother who has experienced pregnancy loss, which has given me an even deeper appreciation for motherhood, growing families, and the memories we sometimes wish we had taken the time to preserve.
Children may need time to warm up. Toddlers may have plans of their own. Someone may feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, and weddings can bring together beautifully complicated family dynamics. You never need to apologize for any of it.
I bring patience, warmth, plenty of conversation, and usually a little laughter. People tend to become comfortable with me quickly, and when they begin to let down their guard, that is when the most honest photographs appear.
I photograph motherhood, newborns, families, and weddings throughout Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, creating images that feel warm, natural, and full of connection. My hope is that years from now, you won’t simply remember how this season looked—you’ll remember exactly how it felt.
That is what I live for: preserving the beauty already present in your family, your life, and your story.
